Muted green, brown, and blue-gray shape the scene. Stone blocks and arches contrast with the irregular trees and shrubs. Light catches parts of the water and masonry, while the surrounding foliage remains shadowed.
The aqueduct fragments are integrated into the landscape rather than dominating it. The stream leads the eye beneath the bridge toward the brighter distance. Trees frame the view and give the old stonework a sense of scale. Old aqueduct arches appear in fragments among dense foliage. A shallow stream crosses the foreground, with rocks and reflections visible beneath the trees. Pale masonry is partly hidden by leaves. Broken stone arches show through the foliage, and their curved lines repeat the gentle bends of the stream.
