It is the first thing everyone asks us. Look closely at a finished canvas and the answer is in the surface: those ridges are where the painter loaded the brush. A print has none, and no printer can put them there.

How a canvas is made
Four hands touch your painting before it ships.

The study
The painter works from museum reference, mapping the original’s palette and brush direction before any paint is mixed.

The underlayer
Composition is blocked in on primed canvas. Nothing is traced or projected — the drawing is made by hand.

The curing
Oil dries slowly and refuses to be hurried. Each layer must set before the next goes on. This is the part that takes weeks.

The inspection
A second set of eyes checks the canvas against the original. If it doesn’t hold up, it doesn’t ship.

Oil is a slow, honest medium. We let it take its time.
A painting cannot be rushed to a deadline. Each layer has to cure before the next one goes on, and that waiting is what builds the depth you see when the light moves across a finished canvas.
Our painters trained in fine-art reproduction and spend their careers on a small circle of masters. They know how Van Gogh loaded a brush and where Vermeer left the canvas almost bare. That knowledge is the product.

Will it look exactly like the original?
It is a hand-painted interpretation, not a photographic copy — the same way a concert is not a recording. Brushwork, colour and composition follow the original closely; the life in it comes from being painted rather than printed.
How long does it take?
Weeks, not days. Oil has to cure between layers and there is no way to hurry that without ruining the finish. We would rather tell you the truth than promise a shipping date the paint cannot keep.
What if I don’t like it when it arrives?
You have 90 days. We will repaint it or refund you — your choice, no restocking fee, no argument. Buying a handmade object unseen should not be a gamble.
Who actually paints it?
A classically trained painter in our studio who works on a narrow set of masters and knows that hand intimately. Every canvas is then checked by someone else before it leaves.
