Description
Clearing Off by John Frederick Kensett shows a low, uneven rise of land beneath a sky where the clouds are beginning to part. Dark rock and scrub occupy the right side, while a lighter band of distant ground opens at the left. The horizon sits low, giving the sky most of the upper field. A small tree or branch rises from the rocky ground near the right, providing a narrow vertical accent against the horizontal layers of land and sky. This hand-painted oil-on-canvas reproduction recreates Clearing Off by John Frederick Kensett.
