Saimi in the Meadow by Eero Jarnefelt. A woman reclines among flowers in a green meadow. Hand-painted in oil on canvas.
Description
Description
A woman reclines in a green meadow among small flowers, her body turned partly toward the ground. One arm rests near her head while the other reaches across the grass. A few blossoms and blades of grass surround her, and a broad clouded sky occupies the background. The figure appears relaxed and absorbed in the open field, with no other people nearby.
About Saimi in the Meadow Reproduction
Fresh green, pink and pale blue tones define the meadow and sky. The light clothing of the woman and skin contrast with the darker grass beneath her. Small flowers punctuate the foreground with white and pink marks. Loose strokes create a soft boundary between figure and landscape, while the cloud shapes give the upper area a gentle movement.
This quiet outdoor figure suits a bedroom, reading nook or sitting room with natural colors. Its horizontal format pairs well with light walls and simple textiles. Display where soft light can show the flower details and clouded sky. Leave open space around the frame to preserve the sense of meadow and calm air. White blossoms surround her shoulder and hair, while a broad cloud bank hangs above the meadow. Small flowers dot the meadow around her pale dress, and a dark green slope rises just behind her. Her hair and pale arm rest near the ground, surrounded by scattered flower marks in the grass.
