Description
Fresh lemons and curling leaves fill a wicker basket surrounded by flowers. At the left, a goldfinch perches beside a lily floating in a porcelain bowl. Woven fibres, fruit skins and a reflective tray give the wide composition a carefully varied surface.
The National Gallery dates the original to about 1643 to 1649 and credits Juan de Zurbarán, the son of Francisco de Zurbarán. This reproduction follows Juan’s pictured composition and is painted by hand in oil on canvas, retaining the basket, scattered flowers and complete bowl-and-bird arrangement.
Each reproduction is painted to order by hand in oil on real canvas. Select an available size that keeps the pictured composition in proportion, then choose your preferred framing option. The original artwork’s medium and dimensions are historical references; the new reproduction is supplied in the size you order.
